World Digital Preservation Day
HAPPY WORLD DIGITAL PRESERVATION DAY!
NOVEMBER 2, 2023
The library invites you to join us in commemorating World Digital Preservation Day (WDPD) on November 2, 2023. The purpose of this day is to “create greater awareness of digital preservation” and the benefits and opportunities of “securing a sustainable future for our digital assets.” It is an annual event organized by the Digital Preservation Coalition https://www.dpconline.org/
This year’s theme, Digital Preservation: A Concerted Effort, is a reminder of the hard work of the digital preservation community and that we are all in this together.
The University of Hawai`i at Mānoa Library is committed to developing its capabilities in the area of digital preservation and would like to share a short video introducing the topic and share some work being undertaken in the library.
The video has been created using a text-to-video generative AI application and was based on a presentation made to library staff by the Digital Preservation Librarian in September 2023.
Mahalo!
