Asia Minorities Exhibit Muslim Chinese

February 1, 2004-February 28, 2004
Location: Asia Collection

This book display supports the Chinese National Ethnic Minorities Studies Program, newly established by the Center for Chinese Studies. The display focuses on three areas, 1) information on ethnic minorities as a whole, 2) studies on selected ethnic groups, and 3) ethnic women's culture in Yunnan Province, where there is the highest number of ethnic groups among all provinces and autonomous regions in China.

The Center "will provide a forum for understanding the Chinese national ethnic minorities and providing programs and activities that facilitate the needs of the PRC and its national ethnic minorities through practical and educational programs and activities. It also will provide an institutional resource for Americans seeking to learn, visit, and contribute to Chinese ethnic national minorities."
