Celebrating our Navigators: Generations of Hawaiian and Pacific Librarians

April 22, 2018-May 31, 2018
Location: Elevator Gallery
Learn what a scrapbook from the 1930s, a shortie muʻu, a French Medal of Merit (the highest civilian award given by the French government), car magnets, and Hawaiian language newspapers have to do with the stories of Hawaiian and Pacific librarians.
This exhibit showcases the legacy of the Pacific Collection, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and the Hawaiian Collection, by paying homage to the generations of curator librarians and unsung heroes who helped create a Collection of special distinction for its efforts in collecting comprehensively for the entire Pacific region.
Exhibit curated by Hawaiian & Pacific Reference & Collections Support Librarian Ellie Seaton and LIS Graduate Student Erica T. Dias.
