This award is available to support academic research in Japan for up to one year at an eligible host institution. While UHM Ph.D. students and post-docs (up to six years post-degree) in any field may be eligible for the JSPS short-term program award through open recruitment, this particular opportunity to apply with CJS’s nomination is limited to UHM Ph.D. students and post-docs with research directions in Japanese Studies.

JSPS SFO’s invitation to CJS is for us to nominate one or more applications to be highlighted for their particular attention in the review process. We are honored as this reflects JSPS SFO’s regard for our programming as well as the high caliber of our research faculty and the students they foster.

Please note the detailed information provided on the JSPS page describing timing and eligibility particulars.
