Summer Seed Funding from CSHL
The Center for the Study of Human Language (CSHL) invites applications for summer seed funding for research projects that will: (i) contribute to the development of our understanding of human language, and (ii) very likely lead to the submission of an external grant proposal.
Through generous start-up funding from the Provost’s office and Dean Arnade’s office, the Center for the Study of Human Language is able to offer a limited number of awards to current faculty in CALL. The funding for CSHL is limited, and so these funds are being used to support pilot projects with great promise which will likely lead to external funding. Such external funding will generate indirect costs which will in turn be used to further support CSHL. Thus the two-fold purpose is to support faculty research and to generate external grant proposal submissions. It is understood that there is no guarantee that a proposal will be funded, but projects that demonstrate the highest likelihood of successful proposal submission will stand the greatest chance of being funded through this seed funding program. Questions? cshl@hawaii.edu
To apply: Please submit THIS FORM, and email an updated CV of the PI (or PIs) to cshl@hawaii.edu.
