Substance Use/Addiction Education & Awareness Presentations
The product consists of two 45-minute Drug Education and Awareness PowerPoint presentations. Rural communities in Hawai’i County are experiencing a shortage of mental health and addiction treatment providers while experiencing increasing rates of substance use and drug-related harm. The presentations will be utilized at the new Rural Wellness Hubs, to community partners, and in schools. The presentations offer information about how drugs affect the brain, identifying substances and understanding their side effects, dispelling myths about SUDs, refusal skills, community resources, and suggestions for parents about how to address the topic of substance use with their children.
