Nōweo joined UH Mānoa staff in 2018. She serves as curator of the campus plant collection – an accredited arboretum. The Campus Arboretum is organized under Buildings and Grounds Management within Facilities. As the curator, she is responsible for the records and inventory of more than 6,000 plants, coordinates the digital plant map, and works to acquire plants to diversify and enhance the campus’s living collection and support the mission of the university. This position works closely with Landscaping to better determine the right plant in the right place. Nōweo is excited to serve fellow staff members in this capacity, even though she is still learning senate kine tings.
