- April 12 – 26, 2023 by 4:30 pm: Self Nomination Period
- Qualifications: To serve on the Mānoa Staff Senate (MSS), a member must hold a 1.0 full-time equivalency (FTE), Administrative, Professional and Technical (APT) position at UHM. It is recommended that senate members have 3 years of service at UHM. Additional information on the duties and responsibilities of senators can be found in the MSS Bylaws.
- Candidate must nominate themselves in order to be listed on the ballot.
- An email will be sent to full-time APT staff on April 12, 2023 with information on how to submit a self-nomination form.
- April 12 – 26, 2023 by 4:30 pm: Self Nomination Period

- May 10 – 17, 2023, Election process. Open seats become available to fill.
- May 18, 2023, MSS Chair will notify newly elected senators by email.
May 19, 2023: Announcement of election results will be sent to APT staff + published on the MSS website

- Closes: April 26, 2023, 4:30 PM.

- An email will be sent to you on April 12, 2022 with more information on how to submit a self-nomination form.
Who can vote in the election?
- UH Mānoa staff employed in an Administrative, Professional, Technical (APT) position with a minimum 0.5 FTE.
When does the election open and close?
- Opens: May 10, 2023, 8:00 AM
- Closes: May 17, 2023, 4:30 PM
How do I vote?
- An email will be sent to you on May 9, 2023 with information on how to vote.
How many seats are up for election?
- For this Spring 2023 election, there are ten (10) seats up for election. Seat terms will run from July 2023 – June 2025.
What happens if there is a tie?
- Mānoa Staff Senate Election Committee (Senators who are not up for re-election) will vote to break any ties that occur.

- Diverse representation of UH Mānoa units
- Years of service
