Cohort Kumukahi – Becoming reflective of Hawaiʻi Papa o ke Ao
Note on our name:
Our office name has been updated to the Hawai‘i Papa o ke Ao (HPOKA) Office. Hawai‘i papa o ke ao can be described in English as: Hawai‘i, the foundation of enlightenment. We use this ‘ōlelo Hawai‘i name to clearly describe what our office is here to do: To support the re-grounding of the University of Hawai‘i in Hawai‘i for the benefit of all.
Welina!
This webpage is designed to provide support for all hui members who are part of Cohort Kumukahi as well as provide general updates on its progress for the betterment of our UH Mānoa community towards becoming a Native Hawaiian Place of Learning.
For questions please contact us at: nhpol@hawaii.edu
Note on the provided sections of the guidebook:
We provide sections of the guidebook as an intentional starting point for this process. Other sections are forthcoming and will be shared as we engage in this work as a collective. We recognize the desire/ask/need/want/push to move forward with writing the 5-year action plan and after hearing stories from people across our Mānoa community we are purposeful in proceeding in this way. We kindly invite you and your hui to pause and spend time with each section to create a process for asking your hui and hale the questions provided.
Ongoing Support Sessions
Beginning in 2025 and after each ongoing support session there will be a re-cap of the session and access to related resources and the session recording.
The next sessions will be happening:
