“I learned Japanese in a classroom” seminar – stories for every learner

Our November 2023 hybrid seminar, “I Learned Japanese in a Classroom”, was a success, and brought together Japanese language-learning and Japanese language-teaching enthusiasts in-person and online via Zoom to hear riveting stories and experiences from our fantastic panel of speakers, each with their own unique and compelling journey into the world of Japanese language learning.

The CJS Bento Box series returned on Thursday, October 12, 2023 with presentations from Brandon Marc Higa, S.J.D. candidate at the William S. Richard School of Law, and Tokikake Ii, Ph.D. candidate at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Department of History.

Emeritus Prof. Yasumasa Kuroda passed away on Aug. 23, 2023 in Yokohama. He was a professor in the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Political Science Department and a member of the Center for Japanese Studies.
