The CJS staff and students and community members came together and participated in the semi-annual cleanup of the Ehime Maru Memorial in Kaka’ako Waterfront Park on January 18, 2025 (Saturday).
Director Levin welcomed the participants, and Mr. Ken Saiki, Director of the Ehime Maru Memorial Association, shared the background of the Ehime Maru Memorial. This semester, we had CJS faculty, Japanese language instructors, former EPIC interns, Japanese studies students, and CJS friends and family members.
We would like to show gratitude to the participants for making it a successful cleanup as this was our highest turnout since we started participating in the community service.
