We had the honor of meeting with the Executive Vice President Dr. Yuri Sato, Director General of Japan Foundation New York Mr. Hiroyuki Kojima, and Director of Global Partnership Mr. Wakao Koike from the Japan Foundation on December 3, 2024.

The Japan Foundation leadership team met with CJS Director Mark Levin, Former CJS Director Dr. Lonny Carlile, and the Center for Okinawan Studies Director Dr. Mark McNally, to discuss areas for collaboration and opportunities to create a greater impact for our students. In a separate meeting, the Center for Indo-Pacific Affairs Director Dr. Petrice Flowers, and CJS Associate Director Joan Pan met with the leadership team to share updates on the Center for Indo-Pacific Affairs activities and  Japanese Studies efforts at UHM, and learn more about recent initiatives at the Japan Foundation. We would like to thank Dr. Sato, Mr. Wakao, and Mr. Kojima again for the delightful meeting and look forward to our continued collaboration in the near future.
