Spring 2025

Lāhui Hawaiʻi Research Conference 2025

History doctoral candidates Xinli Zhang and Kale Kanaeholo participated in this year’s Lāhui Hawaiʻi Research Conference put on by the Lāhui Hawaiʻi Research Center and Native Hawaiian Student Services.

Doctoral student Kale Kanaeholo shares his research project with UH Mānoa history professor, Dr. Noah Dolim.

This year’s theme was “He Aupuni Palapala Koʻu,” which is an often referenced quote from Kauikeaouli, King Kamehameha III’s, speech where he laid out his vision for a literate Hawaiian nation. The two-day conference took place at the Hawaiʻi Imin International Conference Center and featured nearly 50 student presentations, panels, and other works of scholarly engagement from both undergraduate and graduate students.
