Dr. Daniel W. Y. Kwok ʻOhana Floor Presentation

Professor Emeritus Daniel W. Y. Kwok, who passed away last year at age 92, was commemorated last week at a special ceremony during the Senate floor session at the Hawaiʻi State Capitol. Senator Stanley Chang (Hawaiʻi District 9) read remarks honoring Prof. Kwok’s contributions to Chinese studies and presented a certificate to his children, Theodore Kwok, Geospatial Librarian for UH Hamilton Library, and Alison Kwok, Professor in the School of Architecture & Environment at the University of Oregon.

History faculty Shana Brown, Vina Lanzona, Marcus Daniel, and Kieko Matteson were pleased to attend, joined by Carol Mon Lee, longtime friend of the department.
