Deadline extension: Hawai‘i International Conference on Chinese studies

Aloha! The second annual Hawai‘i International Conference on Chinese Studies (HICCS), organized by the Center for Chinese Studies at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, is offering an online conference in 2022. HICCS will be held from January 3 (Monday) through January 5 (Wednesday), 2022. The conference will bring together educators and professionals from a wide range of fields in Chinese Studies to present papers on various aspects of Chinese culture and society in mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and among overseas Chinese. Papers can address issues within China and in Chinese communities throughout the world.

The deadline to submit paper title and abstract has been extended to September 15. There are also eight graduate student awards for free admission. Please see HICCS website for more information on submitting an abstract. Rey Chow and Tom Mullaney will be featured speakers.

In-person HICCS meetings will resume in January 2023.
