Dance Workshop with Dr. Sam-jin Kim
Date, time, place: December 2, 2024, 12:30 – 1:50 PM, Dance Building Studio
This workshop is inspired by the choreography Form_Image by Dr. Kim. The movements are rooted in traditional Korean dance techniques, and Dr. Kim will guide participants through selected parts of the piece.
What encapsulates the essence of the choreography:
It was not something that existed from the beginning.
The form I imprint into the space—that very form becomes me.
Our dance is like that.
In an empty space, I move to create forms,
and those forms come together to become the dance.

Gothmass in Waikiki and other Femme FaTALES
Date, time, place: December 7-8, 2024, 8:30 PM, Earle Ernst Lab Theatre
Organized by: Late Night Theatre Company & Kennedy Theatre
Gothmass in Waikiki and other Femme FaTALES is an interactive, raunchy, warming experience inspired by a local event held in Waikiki a few years ago. On the bill are collaboratively and independently created performances (such as dances, songs, and short plays) that use holidays, spirituality, and alternative living as themes to tell stories of members in our community. We hope you enjoy our spin on this formative event and are inspired to see more underground and experimental art on island. Most importantly, we hope you and yours feel a little more seen this holiday season.
Please note that tickets to all Late Night Theatre Company performances will only be available at the Kennedy Theatre Box Office starting one hour before each performance.

Professor Eric Cline, George Washington University
Date, time, place: December 9, 2024, 7:30 PM, Art Auditorium Room 132

In the years after 1177 BCE, many of the Late Bronze Age civilizations of the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean lay in ruins, undone by invasion, revolt, natural disasters, famine, and the demise of international trade. An interconnected world that had boasted major empires and societies, relative peace, robust commerce, and monumental architecture was lost. Now, in After 1177 BCE, we will trace the compelling story of what happened during the next four centuries across the Aegean and Eastern.
