Joshua “Baba” Kamoaniʻala Tavares is a passionate actor and educator hailing from Hōnaunau, Kona on Hawaiʻi Island. Recently awarded his MFA in Acting and Hana Keaka (Hawaiian Theatre), he brings a wealth of experience to the classroom. Tavares has been deeply involved in the program, showcasing his talents as an actor, director, playwright, composer, and choreographer. He eagerly anticipates his role as Assistant Professor of Acting starting in Fall 2024, where he aims to empower budding storytellers with the tools to thrive in the vast world of performing arts.
