Retired 2020. Gregg Lizenbery has been widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading performing artists in contemporary dance and as a master educator in Laban Movement Analysis. He was a principal dancer with the original Utah Repertory Dance Theatre and co-directed the Bill Evans Dance Company. His solo concert, Men Dancing, a Retrospective of Men in American Dance, toured nationally and internationally. Dancing Men of the 20th Century, a video documentary based on the solo concert, was broadcast on PBS. He also produced an hour-long documentary on the life and works of Donald McKayle, Donald McKayle: Heartbeats of a DanceMaker, that aired nationally on PBS. He served as Director and Graduate Chair of the dance program since 1994 until his retirement and taught modern dance technique, anatomy and kinesiology for the dancer, Bartenieff Movement Fundamentals, and Laban Movement Analysis.
