Gabe Torno is the dance lecturer and instructor for the Philippine Dance course with the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Gabe is born and raised on Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi and has a current residence of Ewa Beach. He is a graduate of Chaminade University in Honolulu with a Masters of Business Administration (with concentration in nonprofit management), and a graduate of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM) with a Bachelors of Arts in Ethnic Studies. He also works for the U.S. Department of Defense. He had previous positions with various educational nonprofits such as AmeriCorps, Bishop Museum, Read Aloud America, and Island Pacific Academy. He is the founder and executive director of Tekniqlingz, a nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen ethnic identity and cultural awareness through education and the perpetuation of Filipino culture in art, music, and dance. In his spare time, he loves spending time with his family and going on food adventures, especially to Jollibee.
