THEA 205 Introduction to Long-Form Improvisation

R. Kevin Garcia Doyle (MFA, UHM 1992) has been an active educator and artist in the Hawaiʻi theater scene for three decades. He is one of the co-founders of the Hawaii Shakespeare Festival and has directed plays at many of the local community theaters. As a member of Improv comedy groups On The Spot, Oil in the Alley, and Loose Screws, he has participated in creating dozens (and multiple varieties) of improv shows – notably Loose Screws’ improvised Kabuki play “Screwbuki,” which was the first improvised play from Hawaiʻi invited to the Chicago Improv Festival. With On The Spot, he has toured internationally in their acclaimed silent movie style improv show, “Hush.” He is a recipient of the HSTC Pierre Bowman Award for outstanding contribution to Hawaiʻi theater.
