UH Mānoa Linguistics students, faculty, and alumni presented posters at LabPhon 20, held June 26-28, 2026 in Montréal, Canada.

Liv Bianchini presented a poster co-authored with Professor Amy Schafer titled "The role of phonologically motivated durational variation in spoken word recognition".

Carolyn Siegman presented a poster titled "Sound change progress and possibility in Heritage Korean Speech".

Kelsey Bialo and Assistant Professor Shelece Easterday presented a poster co-authored with alumna Stephanie Dossett and Associate Professor Bradley McDonnell titled "Disentangling the schwas of Palauan".

Alumna Michelle Kamigaki-Baron presented a poster titled "Evidence of gradient ambient learning across listeners of different language background Do Pidgin speakers have an ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi advantage?"
