Overview

The Indo-Pacific Transdisciplinary Review (IPTR) is an open-access, internationally refereed electronic journal published semiannually by the Department of Indo-Pacific Languages & Literatures housed at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. The journal is dedicated to the production and dissemination of knowledge within the Indo-Pacific region, encompassing approximately fifty countries across the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, and the South China Sea. As an open-access publication, IPTR does not charge any processing fees for submissions or publications.

Adopting a transdisciplinary approach to knowledge production, IPTR publishes research on languages, literature, cultures, education, cross-cultural relations, public and international affairs, indigenous knowledge, and comparative studies, among others. It also accepts creative works in the languages of the Indo-Pacific region with translation in English. We welcome different types of submission including empirical research articles, pedagogical papers, conceptual and theoretical works, short stories, poems, and critical essays, among others. While English is the primary language of the journal, we also seek submissions that are written in other languages.
