Students at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa are invited to an upcoming career talk story with Dr. Elise Rainer on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 12:00 to 1:30 pm HST. Free bentos will be provided to the first ten students who use the link above to register. You must be logged into your UH email to access the form.
Dr. Elise Rainer is a professor of international relations and former diplomat with the US State Department, US Mission to the United Nations, and USAID. Her work has shaped US human rights foreign policy and human rights and democracy programs in North Africa and the Gulf. After leaving her diplomatic career, Dr. Rainer founded an organization called Aurora Global Advisors, that provides evaluation and strategic plan recommendations to global human rights and democracy-implementing organizations. Dr. Rainer teaches undergrad and doctoral students in a variety of international relations courses. Her expertise includes gender and diplomacy, human rights and global security, European Union insitutions and Scandinavian politics, LGBTI rights, and US foreign policy formation. Dr. Rainer is a former Fulbright Scholar and Presidential Management Fellow. Her career talk story will focus on how to launch a career in international affairs.
