Salary: $1,845/month mininum

Other Conditions: To begin August 1, 2024 pending position clearance and availability of funds. Position includes tuition waiver.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in developing the federally funded Indo-Pacific Affairs Internship (IPAI) Program at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa
  2. Produce and disseminate promotional materials such as flyers, images, social media posts, and videos
  3. Assist in managing the application submission process
  4. Collect, organize, and write up data for grant reporting and documentation as assigned by the CIPA Director
  5. Coordinate and implement online, hybrid, and in-person events in collaboration with the Director
  6. Maintain and update the CIPA website and social media
  7. Monitor and respond to relevant communications via email and social media and maintain contact databases
  8. Provide administrative and logistical support for relevant activities
  9. Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with other CIPA team members as necessary
  10. Assist in drafting affiliation agreements and other materials relevant to internship partner organizations
  11. Track news and materials related to Indo-Pacific affairs as relevant to the subject matter covered by internship partner organizations
  12. Other duties as assigned by the Director

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Full-time classified graduate student enrolled in or accepted to a UHM graduate degree program
  2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  3. Excellent communication skills in English (writing, reading, and verbal)
  4. Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  5. Experience coordinating outreach activities and promoting events via social media
  6. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google applications

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Experience planning and executing in-person, hybrid, and virtual events
  2. Experience with administrative work
  3. Experience with website design (e.g., WordPress), graphic design (e.g., Canva), email marketing (e.g., Mailchimp), video editing, and/or sound editing tools
  4. Experience or familiarity with internship programs
  5. Strong social skills and professional conduct
  6. Experience or coursework related to international relations, political science, public policy, social science, Asian studies, Pacific Islands studies, and/or related fields
