Welcome to Student Housing Services at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa! We are thrilled that your student has chosen to make our campus their home. At UHM, we believe that living on campus is more than just having a place to sleep—it is a “home away from home” where students can live comfortably, thrive academically, and build lifelong friendships.
Our dedicated team of professional and student staff is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Whether your student is starting their first year at UHM or is a returning resident, we are here to support their journey every step of the way.
As family members, we know your encouragement is vital to your student’s success. As they transition to more independent living, your role as a supporter will naturally evolve. We encourage you to remain their biggest advocate while also empowering them to resolve challenges on their own.
If your student encounters a hurdle—whether it’s an interpersonal conflict or a maintenance concern—we suggest asking them to first reach out to their Resident Assistant (RA) or submit a service request. For further support, they can also contact their Residence Director (RD). Our RDs are full-time professionals who supervise our RAs and specialize in student development and the residential experience.
