Refunding Incorrect Application Charges: Our team has completed all refund transactions related to the application payment issue reported on Wednesday, March 4 & 5.

Submission Date Protected: Because the application submission date and time are factors in housing assignment priority, we want to reassure applicants who experienced delays while attempting to pay the application fee that they will not be penalized due to the vendor payment issue. We are able to determine the date and time of each applicant’s initial payment attempt. Therefore, we will honor this timestamp as the official Part 1 application submission date and time, rather than the time when payment was successfully processed. 

Changes to Submitted Applications: Requests to update housing preferences or preferred roommate(s) will be accepted only during Part 2 of the application process.

March 6, 2026 — Update as of 4 p.m. HST 

We have identified all applicants who may have made multiple payments due to the ongoing credit card vendor issue and have contacted them directly. Our team is continuing to work with the vendor to review these transactions and subsequently process refunds for the duplicate transactions as appropriate. We anticipate all refunds should be completed by Friday, March 13.

We are aware of an ongoing payment issue with our credit card vendor relating to the Fall 2026 housing application process. This may have resulted in your receiving notices that your deposit was not completed, which prompted you to make several attempts at completing your transaction. Consequently, you may have experienced multiple charges in error against your credit card account. Our team is currently working with the vendor and our financial team to review the issue and ensure that all payments are either successfully processed or refunded to students as appropriate.  

We understand that this situation may cause concern, and we appreciate your patience while we work toward a resolution. Our priority is to ensure that all affected payments are handled accurately.
