Global Opportunities Scholarship (GOS)
The Office of Global Engagement offers the Global Opportunities Scholarship to support full-time undergraduate and graduate students participating in a qualified study abroad, national, or international exchange program. The scholarship covers various expenses, including tuition, books, and fees, as well as travel-related costs like airfare, lodging, and meals. Preference is given to students who have not previously traveled outside Hawai’i and those from underrepresented populations, as identified by the university, who demonstrate satisfactory academic merit.
Please note that GOS applications do not open and close following the STAR timeline; where applications open November 15 – February 15.
GOS applications open at the beginning on each Spring and Fall semester.
For those that are applying to participate in a study abroad program/international exchange program in the Fall semester, applications should be submitted by October 15.
For those that are applying to participate in a study abroad program/international exchange program in the Spring semester, applications should be submitted by April 1.
**Please note that this scholarship would be available to fund up to December 2025.
