Catch crabs at night around coconut tree groves with a flashlight. Step on their backs and grab from behind so that the front claws cannot reach the fingers.

Storage

Hang crabs from a tree or a roof. Can be frozen for longer storage.

Coconut Crab

Coconut crabs are fully terrestrial hermit crabs that have strong front claws. They are the largest known species of crab. Shells are red and blue in color but turn bright red when cooked (Ng, P. K. L., 1998; Rody, 1982).
