Illustration of mortar board (graduation cap)Transformational Student Success entails the holistic, intellectual, and affective development of our students to ensure that they acquire the skills to thrive in their communities and achieve their fullest potential. Our theme was selected to directly address previous Commission recommendations regarding student success. We aimed to expand student support systems and integrate high-impact practices to improve retention and shore up support for underrepresented and underserved populations. The steering committee identified efforts that have demonstrated success in this area for deeper review, expansion, or improvement. We focused specifically on the implementation of early interventions and in-class support for struggling students; equity, access, and student success across underserved populations; and campus-wide improvements in academic advising.
