About the Reaffirmation Review

The 2021 reaffirmation review was held between November 8–12 2021 (remote review). This review followed the procedures for the Thematic Pathway for Reaffirmation (TPR), a streamlined approach to reaffirmation for institutions with healthy indicators, including those institutions that received 9 or 10 years in their previous review. Key to this approach is demonstrating compliance with accreditation standards by focusing on themes and issues of importance to the campus. More details about the WASC TPR may be found in this presentation by Dr. Barbara Gross Davis, WASC Vice President.

With the guidance of the WASC Steering Committee, UH Mānoa selected the following themes for the review: Becoming a Native Hawaiian Place of Learning, Transformational Student Success, and Academic Innovation & Engaged Learning. The Institutional Report presents our progress in these areas. The next steps in the review process are described in the following table:
