About PEACE

The Pacific Education Alliance for Civic Engagement  (PEACE) was launched in the Summer of 2024. After thirty years as the Hawaii/Pacific Islands chapter of Campus Compact, we are launching our new network focused on civic and community engagement. Our mission is to educate students for civic responsibility and partner with education entities and our communities, to inspire, empower, and promote community service and civic engagement. Over the Spring 2024 Semester, the HIPICC organization held stakeholder listening sessions that have led us to the launch of our new organization. We are excited to continue our work while pursuing new partnership opportunities and deepening our impact. We will be working on a new website and brand identity, which we will unveil this summer.

Our Mission

PEACE advances the public purposes of colleges and universities by deepening their ability to improve community life and to educate students for civic and social responsibility.

Our Vision

PEACE envisions colleges and universities as vital agents and architects of a diverse democracy, committed to educating students for responsible citizenship in ways that both deepen their education and improve the quality of community life. We challenge all of higher education to make civic and community engagement an institutional priority.
