Subject: Use of Special, Revolving and Endowment Funds: Exception to Cover Tips up to 20% of Meal Costs

Effective immediately, this memo supersedes previous memos regarding tips for meal costs. Pursuant to Administrative Procedures A8.225, Limitations in Purchasing, an exception is authorized to cover actual costs of tips up to 20% of meal charges with Special, Revolving and/or Endowment Funds for Mānoa campus units. This exception will enable campus departments to claim tips up to 20% of authorized meal costs that are within their delegated purchasing authority and fiscal jurisdiction. Requests for the procurement of meals and/or refreshments and accompanying tips must be submitted to and approved by the Mānoa Office of Business and Finance through the Kuali Build Form 136.
