COVID-19 Contingency Plans (Michael Bruno)

  • A meeting was held with VCs, Deans, Directors, and ORU Heads to discuss campus operations and emergency preparedness
  • System Administrators hold daily conference calls and are in constant contact with the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency; campus protocols and operations are continuously being assessed
  • A complete campus closure is not anticipated.
  • Note that on March 12, 2020 the university announced the following actions:
    • all campuses will move to online instruction beginning March 23rd
    • large public events with more than 100 individuals in a confined space are being postponed or canceled as of March 23rd
    • cancelation of most already scheduled travel, no new non-essential travel
  • The COVID-19 situation is constantly evolving; visit the UH COVID-19 and the UH Mānoa COVID-19 web pages for further information and updates

COVID-19 Travel Policy (Jan Gouveia)

  • UH-sponsored travel to CDC Level 3 countries is not authorized
  • UH-sponsored travel to CDC Level 2 countries requires Provost’s approval
  • Visit the COVID-19 UH Travel FAQ for information and updates
  • Questions or concerns regarding COVID-19 should be sent to COVID19@hawaii.edu; Dan Meisenzahl and his staff manage that account and forward the messages received to appropriate individuals for responses
  • Individuals traveling to a CDC Level 3 country will be required to report their travel to their supervisor, self-quarantine for 14 days upon return, and receive clearance before returning to campus
