The College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR) and Department of Tropical Plant ant Soil Sciences offer undergraduate and graduate scholarships to students in the TPSS program. Some of these scholarships are based on financial need, while others are determined by academic achievement, chosen field of study, or other criteria.
The scholarships are administered through the University of Hawaii Foundation and can be accessed at http://www.uhfoundation.org/scholarships/search.aspx. Details can be obtained by entering in the Campus search box: UH Manoa, Unit: Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, and Department: Tropical Plant and Soil Sciences.
Scholarships available to TPSS students include the Charles Chu Hing Scholarship, Haruyuki Kamemoto Scholarship, Plant Pathology Graduate Student Travel Grant Fund, Richard Airth Hamilton Fellowship Fund and TPSS Student Scholarship. Students are also able to apply for scholarships administered by UH Mānoa and CTAHR.

University Scholarships
Applications for University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa (UHM) scholarships and other forms of financial assistance (such as Pell Grants and work-study programs) are available at the Financial Aid Office. Application deadlines vary by scholarship, but are generally due in the spring.
College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR) Scholarships
The College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR) has scholarships available to qualified students majoring in any of its programs. CTAHR scholarship recipients are expected to donate several hours each semester in service-related activities.
CTAHR has over $250,000 in scholarships for our students. By completing this one application, you will be matched to any of the numerous CTAHR funds for which you are eligible. Please note that each scholarship has different requirements, and that not all scholarships listed below are awarded each year.
To apply, go to the STAR website, search for “Andrew G. & Merle E. Hashimoto CTAHR Scholarship Fund”. A list of scholarships for which you will be considered for will appear. This list excludes some departmental scholarships which you may be eligible for, see “Departmental STAR System Scholarships” below. Applicants should submit the completed CTAHR Scholarship application form by Saturday, February 15, 2020 by 11:59 PM.
