SAPFB provides an opportunity for programs and organizations to be granted funding for their co-curricular events and activities. Below is the general layout of our funding process.
1. Sign Up for and Attend the Mandatory Information Briefing Meetings
In order to receive an SAPFB funding application, a representative from your organization must attend a mandatory Info Briefing.
If you miss the Info Session sign up and/or the Info Session, no make ups will be allowed and you will not be able to apply for funding.
Read more about our Info Briefings.
2. Submit your Application
Those that attended the information briefings will be sent a link to the application, in which groups will provide their budget and documents.
Read more about the application process.
3. Attend Funding Hearings (if needed)
If required, attend your scheduled funding hearing. If you miss your hearing, you may request a one time make up from the board. However depending on timing and the boards schedule, they may not be able to accommodate the change. In that case, you will not receive funding for that cycle.
Awards
After all funding hearings are completed, the board carefully considers each proposal, recommending the amount of funding each organization should be granted for each event. These recommendations are then forwarded to the UH Mānoa Vice Provost for Student Success for approval. Once approval is received, SAPFB will notify the applicants the status of their funding application and any necessary procedures to accept the award.

IMPORTANT
The board cannot stress the importance of keeping track of your deadlines. We will not allow make ups or extensions of any kind during the funding cycle. We understand life happens and sometimes you are unable to make a deadline, so please be prepared for these scenarios and have multiple people on the same page.
Extensions/make ups will not be permitted for the following:
Info session sign ups, Info Sessions and Application. Funding hearing extensions will be left up to the board.
We know this is an inconvenience but the board receives hundreds of funding requests and cannot make exceptions for a few groups. This is a volunteer board, all of which attend and/or teach classes and have outside jobs and responsibilities. Allowing make ups/extensions even for a few groups drastically alters the boards schedule and delays our funding process.
