Didier Lenglare has been teaching French and Francophone cultures at UH since 2009. He earned his Ph.D. in French Studies at Louisiana State University, writing his dissertation on the Francophone literatures of French Polynesia and New Caledonia. He also holds dual Master’s degrees in Political Science from the Universities of Montréal and Stockholm. Born in France and raised in Sénégal, he has lived and worked all over the Francophone world, from Québec to Tahiti, the Marquesas, and the Loyalty Islands among the Kanak people of Lifou. He continues to explore the cultures of the French-speaking world, traveling widely from Vietnam to Morocco. He is also an Italophile who has lived in Rome for several years and returns to Italy every summer.
