UH Mānoa First Generation Celebration:
November 4, 2024
Students gathered at the Campus Center Courtyard to celebrate the achievements and resilience of first-generation college students in an event that marked the university’s annual First Generation Celebration. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., students, faculty, and staff joined in a lively and supportive atmosphere dedicated to honoring those who are the first in their families to attend college.
Attendees explored various campus resources aimed at helping first-generation students thrive academically and personally, including programs for academic support, career planning, and mentorship. The event also offered a space for first-generation students to connect, share stories, and build a stronger sense of community on campus.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support our first generation students and to our first-generation students!
