UH Foundation features Melissa Miyashiro ’10

UH Foundation recently featured ELP Alumna Melissa Miyashiro ’10 who is currently Chief of Staff for Blue Planet Foundation. Miyashiro’s work strives for 100% renewable clean energy; she manages the Foundation’s policy work and oversees the legal tasks involved with managing a non-profit.

Miyashiro graduated from the William S. Richardson School of Law in 2008 with a certificate in Environmental Law. She was a post-graduate fellow with the Coordinating Group on Alien Pest Species (CGAPS) where she worked with the Department of Agriculture’s plant quarantine office. Miyashiro had the opportunity to work on novel legal issues regarding plant import regulations. Hau‘oli Mau Loa Foundation funded her position; it also funds other legal fellows to work on issues with invasive species.
