The 2017-2018 National Environmental Moot Court team was composed of Haley Chee ’18, Mahesh Cleveland ’18, and Kevin Yolken ’18.
The 2018 National Environmental Moot Court Competition was held from February 22-24, 2018. Our team advanced to the quarterfinals of the competition in White Plains, New York following three preliminary rounds against teams from Baltimore, West Virginia, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Michigan. Kevin Yolken won Best Oralist in the second round. After a spirited oral argument against teams from Texas and Minnesota, the latter advanced to the semis with a well-deserved victory. The team, as well as team assistant Cameron Komatsu ’20, would like to thank all of the volunteer judges who helped prepare the team for this year’s competition.

Kevin Yolken ’18 (Best Oralist in second preliminary round), Mahesh Cleveland ’18, and Haley Chee ’18. In addition to the quality of their arguments and delivery, multiple judges held up the team as a model for other teams to follow by complimenting them on being “dressed to the nines.”
