The purpose of this contest is to increase knowledge of food safety and preparation, enhance understanding of the farm-to-table concept, and strengthen understanding of the importance of buying locally grown products. Your goal is to create a 5-7 minute video that showcases a local commodity (plant or animal) and demonstrates the successful completion of a healthful recipe. 2018 Maui Fair Parade
Approximately 85 members of 4-H clubs participated in the Maui Fair parade this year! The Maui County Youth Officers led the group, carrying the Maui 4-H Organization banner. Club members wore their club uniforms and some carried their own club banners as well. Our youngest members, Cloverbuds, joined in the fun as well. The group waved to the crowd and had a great time interacting with each other and the public. Looking forward to next year already!

Today at our meeting (9/9/18), Aunty Kathy and Kaitlin Kitagawa taught us how to make Crispy Gau Gee and Almond Cookies. Another name for Crispy Gau Gee is Won Ton. These free classes are for teens aged 14-17 who are interested in learning about How Honey Bees Work, Life in the Hive, Anatomy of a Bee, Power of Pollination, and Beekeeping Tools. Classes run weekly on Tuesdays from 3-5pm beginning on September 11, 2018 and ending on October 23, 2018. Classes will take place on the UH Maui College campus.
