The College of Arts, Languages & Letters announces that funds are available from the UH Endowment for the Humanities to support summer research projects that fall within one of the humanities disciplines.
Disciplines include: languages (both modern and classical); linguistics; literature; history; jurisprudence; philosophy; archaeology; comparative religion; ethics; and the history, criticism, and theory of the arts.

The South Asian Studies Council (SASC) at the MacMillan Center invites applications for a post-doctoral associate position at Yale University for AY 2023-2024. Candidates must have research and teaching experience relevant to modern and contemporary South Asia, in the humanities or social sciences.

The American Institute of Pakistan Studies – Pakistan Director Position
This position provides leadership, oversight, and management of AIPS’s overseas office(s) in Pakistan in alignment with its mission, governance (President, Officers, Executive Committee), and U.S. Director. It directs administrative oversight and academic curriculum development to ensure optimal integration of the institute’s activities for Pakistan-based participants and its U.S.- based members and governance. It also ensures that resource allocation aligns with AIPS’s mission and the primary objectives of its programs. The position involves managing a team of professionals who support the institute per its by-laws.

The Center Manager of the M.S. Chadha Center for Global India (CGI) of the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PIIRS) works directly with the CGI Director to implement the Center’s strategic plan, overseeing personnel, financials, communications (including the Center’s website), events, short-term and yearlong visitors, and education efforts, including programs being designed for implementation in India. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a fast-growing center and help develop a broad range of programs and activities focused on global India themes.

Nirmal K. and Augustina Mattoo Endowed Chair in Classical Indic Humanities, Stony Brook University
The Department of Asian and Asian American Studies at Stony Brook University invites applications and nominations for the Nirmal K. and Augustina Mattoo Endowed Chair in Classical Indic Humanities, beginning Fall 2023. The goal of the Mattoo Chair is to advance research in and promote a better appreciation of the contributions to human knowledge made by systems of knowledge having their origin or major development in Classical India. For this appointment, we are looking for an outstanding scholar in: art, aesthetics, classics, cultural anthropology, intellectual history, languages, literatures, linguistics, theories of mind, or religious studies.
