Professional Support

Our Professional Support section provides a broad range of services that support Campus Operations & Facilities Staff as well as the broader University Community. This includes everything from mechanical, electrical and architectural reviews of building plans to ensure compliance with local rules and regulations to the development of safety plans that are designed to keep staff safe in the workplace. Fire Safety

The Fire Safety Program is responsible for fire safety building inspections, fire investigations, Uniform Fire and Building Code interpretations and technical assistance, new construction and building renovation plans review, fire exit drills, and the inspection, maintenance, and testing of all fire protection equipment on the Mānoa campus. Education and training programs are also available to any on-campus group upon request. Programs include relevant lecture, audio/video presentations, and hands-on fire extinguisher training.

The program provides a fire safe campus environment by identifying and eliminating potential fire hazards through consistent and comprehensive building fire inspection procedures emphasizing compliance with all applicable fire and building codes.
