We Are Hiring!: TT- Faculty Positions in Inorganc Chemistry/Material Science and Computational Chemistry
Two Assistant Professors in Computational Chemistry and Inorganic or Materials Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa invites applications for a one tenure-track Computational Chemistry faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, and one tenure-track Inorganic or Materials Chemistry faculty position as an Assistant Professor. Exceptional candidates with a Ph.D. in Chemistry or closely related fields and with research and teaching interests in computational chemistry, inorganic or material chemistry are encouraged to apply.
Candidates for both positions are expected to establish productive, externally funded research programs and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching within the Chemistry Department. We are especially interested in candidates whose research interests are responsive to the strategic needs of the State of Hawai’i, and that synergize with existing strengths within the department and the university, which include synthesis and characterization of materials for alternative energy applications, tandem experimental and computational development of novel catalysts for sustainable and environmentally responsible chemical transformations; and discovery and synthesis of antibiotic or antitumor compounds. Information about current faculty research interests in the Department of Chemistry can be found at http://www.manoa.hawaii.edu/chem/. For the computational position, qualified candidates with research interests in CO2 reduction and/or atmospheric chemistry will receive special consideration.
