UHM Coll of Nat Sci – Chemistry, (Manoa)

Details: full time, temporary, non-tenure track, to begin April 1, 2015.

Duties:

• To contribute to research progress on a project combining methods development and total synthesis directed at a pharmacologically active small molecule. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the design, synthesis and characterization of a series of organic molecules. An excellent understanding of mechanistic organic chemistry is required.

Minimum qualifications:

• Ph.D. in chemical science
• Publications in the peer-reviewed literature in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry
• Ability to carry out independent research and prepare manuscripts for publication.

Desirable qualifications:

• Experience in pharmaceutical chemistry

Pay range: The stipend is competitive and commensurate with experience starting from $33,000 per annum and may be subjected to withholding taxes, as required by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service
