UHM Coll of Nat Sci – Chemistry, (Manoa)
Details: full time, temporary, non-tenure track, federal funds, to begin January 1, 2015.
Duties:
- To contribute to research progress on a project combining organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the design, synthesis and evaluation of a series of small-molecule receptor probes. An excellent understanding of mechanistic organic chemistry is required.
Minimum qualifications:
- Ph.D. in organic synthesis
- Publications in the peer-reviewed literature on organic synthesis
- Published record of accomplishment in medicinal chemistry
- Ability to carry out independent research and prepare manuscripts of results for publication.
Desirable qualifications:
- Research experience in catalysis
- Medicinal chemistry research experience
- Postdoctoral research experience
Pay range: The stipend is competitive and commensurate with experience starting from $33,000 per annum and may be subjected to withholding taxes, as required by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service
