The University of Hawaii Chemistry department houses a state-of-the-art Rigaku SCXMini CCD diffractometer equipped with an Oxford Cryosystems Cryostream 700, capable of cooling crystals down to 100 Kelvin.

In addition, the X-ray Diffraction Lab at UH Hilo has a single-crystal diffractometer that uses Mo radiation, and have been awarded a MRI grant to obtain a new instrument (Aug 2019). The new instrument will be state-of-the-art and will use copper radiation and have LT capability.
