Seminar on the history and theory of interdisciplinary cultural studies. The politics of culture are examined in comparative perspective, focusing on their significance for identity formation, intercultural relations, and global flows of images, people and capital. Approaches to the study of media and popular culture are taken up in terms of their relevance for contemporary issues, especially in Hawai‘i and the Asia/Pacific/U.S. region. Repeatable one time.
