Claire is a project manager on the Healthy Hawai‘i Evaluation Team (HHET), focusing her evaluation work on building community resilience to disease among high-risk populations. Claire’s public health practice experience includes 6 years in Local Public Health Agencies working in Emergency Preparedness & Response, as well as in Communicable Disease Management and Epidemiology. In addition, she previously worked with the Northwest Center for Public Health Practice at the University of Washington, Seattle, where she created and implemented public health evaluations across a six-state region, and worked as Project Manager for a nationwide grant in Public Health Law Training and Curriculum Development. She has also served as Adjunct Faculty for the University of Missouri, creating and teaching a course in Epidemiology to undergraduate public health students. She has a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Washington, Seattle and is currently a doctoral candidate in the same department. Her dissertation work focuses on migration, social support, and risk of HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). Other research interests include social epidemiology and infectious diseases, health disparities, public health law, survey data collection methods, and public health training and program evaluation.
