Rod Neil David is the Fiscal Support Specialist for the Center for Philippine Studies. He assists
the Center by helping to process fiscal, HR, and logistical paperwork. He is responsible for
budget, grants, fiscal, and personnel duties to support the daily operations of the Centers and
logistical requirements for projects/personnel. He also prepares, reviews, and audits fiscal,
procurement, and personnel documents for compliance with applicable University of Hawaiʻi
(UH), UH Foundation (UHF), Research Corporation of the University of Hawaiʻi (RCUH), state,
federal, contract rules, and regulations.
Rod graduated from UH Mānoa with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and a minor in Filipino
Language and Literature in 2022. He is currently a pre-medical student who is active in the
Filipino community. He serves as the vice president of the Philippine Pre-medical Student
Association of Hawaiʻi which aims to increase the representation of Filipino physicians by
assisting students in their journey to medicine. Rod also serves as the Clinical Operations
Director of Seafarers Medical Clinic which provides basic health care screening to the Filipino,
Vietnamese, and Indonesian fishermen docked at the Honolulu Harbor.
