It started on June 5-6, 2023 with a pre-departure program via Zoom, and the main program launched on June 12, 2023 until July 6, 2023 on the DLSU Dasmarinas campus. This project is the second Fulbright-Hays GPA implemented by the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Center for Philippine Studies.

Project Dunong at Kalinangan will train 19 participants carefully selected from Hawaii and California (1 is from neighboring Yuma, Arizona) composed of K12 teachers, students and university faculty. It is managed by a UHM team consisting of three members (Dr. Federico Magdalena, Project Director, Dr. Pia Arboleda, Co-Project Director and the Center’s Director, and Dr. Jayson Parba, Project Administrator), with Dr. Christian George Francisco of DLSU-Dasma coordinating the FH project. The participants will undergo a month-long immersion training on basic Filipino language and Philippine cultural heritage.
